TRACEY HOME
Location: Alpharetta, GA
Status: Complete
Nestled into one of Alpharetta's older neighborhoods, this 1980's home underwent a full remodel and expansion, transforming an undersized and segmented plan into a vibrant, connected, and livable craftsman farmhouse. Existing foundations were largely retained, with the footprint expanded to the front via a new covered porch and to the rear to include a new primary suite and outdoor living area. Interior rooms were reconfigured to provide an open kitchen, living room, and dining room, all aligned with key elements to provide a sense of balance and symmetry when entering and walking through the home. Upon arrival, the central front porch adorned with stone, wood posts, and custom architectural details provides warmth and a clear sense of entry. Your path from the cobblestone driveway to the porch takes you past the ribbon of windows and stained wood brackets that line the office windows.
To the rear of the home, the primary suite is pulled away from the outdoor living room and set opposite the existing garage to take full advantage of the views and natural lighting this site affords. Ribbon windows line the primary bedroom, bathroom, and banquette, set atop a brick water table that grounds the home with a nod to the existing structure. For this home we provided both architectural and interior design services and are thrilled to have the homeowners moved in and loving their new home.
