LILBURN PLACE OF WORSHIP

Location: Lilburn, GA

Status: Under Construction

Religious tradition, economic hardship, environmental challenges, and more than a decade of delay greeted our team when we were approached about taking on a roll with this project. Beginning in the early 2010's, this 3-story place of worship began to take shape. Foundations we constructed, along with various site elements, including provisions for remediating a natural spring 14' below the basement floor, exterior load bearing walls, and steel columns and floor/roof joists were installed.  At this point, the myriad of construction and economic challenges caused this project to pause until 2023 when our team was engaged to provide project management services to help restart this project and bring it to completion.

We worked closely with the ownership team finalizing revamped design drawings, navigating the permitting process, contractor bidding and selection, specialty material procurement, and onsite project management during the construction phase.

The building is adorned with an Egyptian limestone and GFRC  façade, clad hardwood windows, and a variety of decorative elements speaking to the religious traditions associated with this building. The interior contains two floors above grade serving the weekly gatherings with dedicated worship and classroom areas, and a basement floor to provide support spaces and additional room for community gatherings. Hand carved decorative elements line the main function areas, along with custom chandeliers showcasing the craftsmanship emanating from this communities roots.
